Picture it. It’s the mid-1850s and the baseball craze is just starting to hit New York. The nation is becoming baseball crazy! There’s a frenzy building for the ball and the bat and by 1856, baseball is accepted as America’s "national pastime" and "national game". Just one year later, in 1857, the National Association of Baseball Players is formed with sixteen area clubs. What an amazing time it must have been!

Not much has changed about the actual game since then, but a lot has changed in the way we organize and observe the game.
