Swing Dance
Swing dancing is joyful, free spirited and infectious! Sometimes known as Jitterbug, the original form of swing dancing that was born out of the Charleston age of the 1920’s was called Lindy Hop. Those first swing dance steps were born in Harlem and dominated dance halls throughout the Great Depression until World War II. Swing dancing’ unabashedly joyful, solid, flowing style and a lead/follow connection between two partners makes it one of the best dances around and you’ll be able to celebrate your next swing dance with terrific tickets from Worldwide Ticketcraft. Swing dancing has a history of evolving along with the new popular music of the time from the hot jazz of the 20’s, to the hard swinging house bands of the Savoy Ballroom in the 30’s, to the early 40’s Big Bands. You might even consider Rock n’ Roll dancing to be part of the swing era, and it certainly has the same partnered, playful roots danced to vibrant music. A-one, a-two, you know what to do!
